Question Description

First, read the article on the Compelling Behaviors of a Mindful Leader. Then, read the article on Developing Mindful Leaders.
Begin thinking about what traits you have and what traits require further development. Also consider what are the practices of mindfulness or mindful leadership?

Next, write a list of strengths and weaknesses you think you have and contrast the list with what has been identified in the article. A full list of typical strengths and weakness is attached below for your convenience. Describe this comparison. Does it make sense to you? Are you surprised by how you align with the traits of a mindful leader? Why or why not?

Then, consider this question: Can you improve your strengths? Explore McQuaid’s article (and video) to begin thinking about the ways in which you can develop strengths of not only a leader, but a Mindful Leader. Consider what strengths you may need to achieve mindful leadership and success. Chapter 6 in the Search Inside Yourself text is also a good resource to help you answer this!

In a 2-3 page essay, (1) discuss what are the practices of mindfulness or mindful leadership?, (2) discuss the comparison of your strengths/weaknesses to that of a mindful leader; be sure to include your reaction. Finally, (3) provide a detailed response to the question posed to you in Step 3. Be sure to discuss how beneficial it was to you, and the extent to which you now feel more mindful. Your essay should contain properly formatted citations and be free of spelling/grammar errors.
