PURPOSE
Practice clinical reasoning skills using life-like clinical video and media situations.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
This assignment enables the student to meet the following course outcomes.
- Provide individualized comprehensive care for children and their families with multiple health problems in institutions and community-care settings from birth through adolescence (PO 1).
- Provide pediatric care in collaboration with other healthcare providers in health promotion, illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance, and rehabilitative activities (PO 2).
- Utilize communication and relationship skills in providing care to children and families, and aggregates in a variety of healthcare settings (PO 3).
- Utilize critical thinking skills in clinical decision making in the care of pediatric clients (PO 4).
- Utilize legal, ethical, and professional standards and principles, including those related to child abuse recognition and intervention, as a basis for pediatric clinical decision-making (PO 6).
- Assume responsibility for nursing care of children and their families, and aggregates as a beginning member of the healthcare team (PO 7).
- Provide nursing care using multiple nursing roles as appropriate to perinatal clients and their families (PO8).

PREPARING THE ASSIGNMENT
Log in to your ATI account and click on the “MY ATI” tab. Click the “Apply” tab and select “Real Life RN Nursing Care of Children 2.0.” Select the following modules to be completed in the weeks they are assigned. Each module is worth 50 points:
- Cystic Fibrosis- Inpatient Care
- Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus
- Gastroenteritis and Dehydration
